Mike Hussey to retire!
http://www.espncricinfo.com/australi...ry/598950.html
Cant stop but wonder what is happening to the cricketing world. Ricky Ponting retired, Ton Greig passed away and now 'Mr. Cricket' retiring.
Was one of my favorite batsman and probably the best finisher in modern era of cricket. You will be missed sir!

Australia's chance of regaining the Ashes next year is very slim now. Aussies will go to England with a totally new look batting line up then last time. Hussey's immediate replacement Glen Maxwell now have huge shoes to fill in.

A little surprised since I thought he could've played a year or 2 longer but still not a bad time for him to retire. I'll miss him for sure. He's such a fighter and definitely deserves the name Mr. Cricket.
Australia is going through many changes now in the batting lineup. Maxwell looks a good prospect and should be a good player for the future.

I think in flux of new potential blood is creating stressful competition for Aussie veterans. Hussey's retirement actually shows the credibility of the CA pipeline.
I am grieved that we lost Tony Grieg, with his departure BD lost a valuable admirer in the little world of Cricket commentators.

This has been talked about a lot by the bangla fans at Cricinfo comments column that with the amount of top players that are retiring from the other teams, its making their team weaker and making things easier for a country like Bangladesh to compete especially considering the fact that the Bangladesh team is the youngest and experience of the lot as compared to youngsters of other teams and I would have to agree which is a good thing if you're a Bangladesh fan.

I think he timed it perfectly. It would be have been better for Australia if he kept on playing up till Ashes.
His international career didn't even start until he turned 30. This is one of those what if thing, imagine how things could have been had his international career kicked off another 5 years ago. The man is a genius, they didn't call him Mr. Cricket for nothing. My most favorite Hussey innings was the bashing he gave to Ajmal in T20, that was just pure magic.

A class cricketers who was very versatile. Could bat anywhere in a batting lineup. A bit shocked abt the decision but i think Maxwell is not good enough to fill the huge shoes of Hussey. He was simply the whole package. Batted accordingly to any given situation.
I salute you sir!

been wondering when this would happen over the last couple of seasons. an incredible player, as said can walk into any batting line-up and that's for any format. glad he's retiring on a high though, but for sure tough for australia. agree maxwell can't fill hussey's shoes, khwaja probably should be playing in his place but even he isn't there yet to fill mr crickets shoes. it's probably not likely but mike retiring gives david a better chance of making a test debut, especially against england for the ashes but i think the selectors will continue to go for youth.

Khawaja will probably end up getting the nod. Maxwell is playing in place of Watto mainly because he'll the AR slot but Khawaja would probably replace Hussey. Lets see how the Australia's youngsters play out. I'm a fan of a lot of these guys and see them doing quite well although I'm expecting some bumps in the road

A complete cricketer and one of the most fierce competitors ever, he will be sorely missed.

Wow! What a cricketer! I wished he debuted a bit earlier. but then again, It is kinda tough to debut at such a team in an early age when the team is filled with all legendary players of their own kind. I wondered if he would have given Tendulkar a run for his money had he debuted at 16?
The cricket world will miss you Mr. Cricket, no one will miss you more than Cricket Australia and her beloved fans...
