Effects of the PCB-BCB beef.
Regardless of who started it (PCB by attempting to blackmail Lotus, and Lotus for accepting it with open arms), how does this effect each side. Some Pak fans and a few on BC think the negative effects affect BCB more. Lets count them.
BCB
- misses PAK contracted players for all domestic leagues
- possible slight loss of revenue as a result
- no bilateral series between PAK and BD
PCB
- faces possible player discontent over lost incomes
- PSL cannot afford to fail otherwise PCB will come under fire
- exposed for trying to pressure/bully/force BD to tour when they didn't want to
- exposed for being petty with tit for tat reactions
- exposed for lying by saying they were "unaware" of BCB's NOC request
- still not any closer to reviving international cricket
- embarassment of being led on by a "minnow" board
Unless, I missed anything, it seems PCB came away with not only a bloody nose but a few broken bones as well.

BCB
- Not so attractive BPL so far.
- International Broadcasters like ESPN are not even broadcasting more than half of a game a day
- BCB's Planning and organizing weaknesses exposed.
- BCB's bosses priority of personal interests over National, exposed internationally

Shame PCB! looks like Pakistan will NEVER host matches again. I totally agree that although this has done some damage to us but that's nothing compared to what Pakistan have suffered and everyone I mean the other Cricket boards know that PCB were trying to use BCB but the good thing is that they failed. This also means we don't have to tour Pakistan anymore and don't have to send our players to play in their so called 'super' league.
I prefer instead if we build relations more with teams like Sri Lanka and even associates so we are getting plenty of games especially now Pakistan and Bangladesh won't be playing each other as much after this dramatic saga.

I think soon but slowly BPL will be more successful, long as they organise it better and not mess up with payments, and pak player doesn't matter.

if BPL fails, it will be because of our admin's incapability, they dont have any rules and regulations, no proper restrictions. first they should make constitution like IPL and follow it, instead of trying to make quick money

Too much bad blood between a separated couple going through a legal divorce process. The sooner the divorce happens, the better for both, otherwise both will be loser. Both need to learn how to move forward with their lives...nobody is irreplaceable...you just need to move on with your life and find a new partner.

BCB should learn from this not to put all it's eggs in one basket. If the suceess of BPL sololey depends on Pak players, we need to do better marketing and get players from all available cricket playing nation next time.

PCB-
- Local players lost out on revenue by not getting NOC's, have to wait and see how far the PSL goes in terms of compensation.
- No int'l cricket in Pakistan, have to go back to the drawing board.
BCB
- No Pakistani players in BPL, management issues.
- I dont know the long term effects but India + most of the top ranked teams already don't play with BD. If Pakistan goes as well, I dont think its good for your own cricket especially test. So most probably no future series with Bangladesh.
- Remains to be seen how successful this years BPL will be w/o star players.

Both boards have come off embaressingly!! Anyone thinks international spectators are going to do all the digging to find out who did what since beginning of last year are naive??? All international people are going to see is PCB-BCB showcasing best of the corrupt, back-stabbing, lyin south-asian officials the world already nows existed in asia.
All these statements and counter statements being released by both boards is not helping people forget this highly negative situation. Pakistanis are trying to act like they are happy PCB has done something, Bangalis are acting as if there has been no affect to BPL, There's a lot of false chest banging going on.
I personally have always wanted less pak players since the 1st BPL, as our players need more attention, not the pak players!
todays games our players have been able to step up and be noticed....ashraful and nasirs great batting, abuls 3 wickets etc.

Very valid point.. except:
Our locals have not yet stepped up...Ash, Nasir & Abul are expected to perform even with the best foreign recruits in the side....need new guys, non National Team guys to step up. Guys from U19, A Team, discards like Alok, Aftab, Taposh, Dhiman, Kaedge, Nazim etc etc

LOL listen to this guy, like pakistan bothers to play with us when they don't need us. I still remember we went to play that 5 odi series (where shakib scored his 2nd 100) when australia pulled out because of security issues. So how can pcb say we don't do any favors for them?
they way you'r saying it is that pakistan is always trying to play a tournament with us. Atleast INDIA say's it straight up, NOT MUCH REVENUS by playing us where as pakistan is FORCING us and BLACKMAILING us. NOT COOL.

Bangladesh is always lock step with Pakistan. Even India, with all its frailties, could not put on such an a$$ of a display of mis information & non professionalism. This coming from the 2 most undemocratic countries in the top tier cricketing world. Two countries well known for killing their leaders. Everyone on the side line is laughing his butt off. Regardless of how much Bangladesh fans here or on CI or Pak cricket come out supreme, BPL debacle, non payment, and Lotus Kamal have given enough to others such that in their eyes, pakistan minus mullah terrorism, is Bangladesh.

Not that it's a contest, but of course we've come out on top. People aren't afraid to come to Bangladesh because they've been shot at before, or because our mosques, marketplaces, hotels and fast food joints don't get blown up on a regular basis by self anointed soldiers of GOD patronized and protected by their military.
Only Loitta is the loser from Bangladesh and deservedly so.

I cannot disagree with this post. It is actually spot on! However, "mullah terrorism", partly due to Pakistan's importance on the geopolitical front and media sensationalism is a HUGE difference. Thats why teams will tour Bangladesh but never Pakistan.
The way a neutral person is going to see it is, not all that bad. BPL paid their foreign contingent fully if belatedly. They had that much sense. Local players will always get crappier treatment (see Zimbabwe, Pakistan). Ian Pont came back so obviously payment issues were settled. As far as backing out of a tour, neutrals, will only see that BCB pulled out due to security concern...and guess what no one will blame them because they're afraid too. Who isn't?

I am happy that PCB is not sending it's players. Now we the fans, who were embarassed by LK's actions, won't have to feel guilty about giving mixed signals to PCB over the past year about touring Pakistan.
Even if we had backed out on earlier promises with PCB, everyone knows that the situation is far from ideal over there. We have legitimate reason to fear about going there. While promises were made for personal gains of a certain individual there was no bad intent to damage Pakistan cricket from our side.
We are eager to play international cricket with quality sides like Pakistan but we also have to take into account that lives of our cricketers cannot be put at risk. Us touring for a short series would have only been viewed as a goodwill gesture and not as an improvement of ground realities.
What PCB did before BPL was purely to damage our cricket because they deliberately waited till the last moment to ensure we couldn't find adequate replacements. In BPL 1 we welcomed their players and gave them the respect and the value from our resources. Something that they don't get from leagues like IPL. It was a platform for them to showcase their skills also and in effect make our league more competitive. There was no security concern or any other issue for them to not give NOC to their players so imo they have also lost their moral high ground on this issue (if they had any to begin with)

Yes, totally. There is absolutely no moral equivalency here at all. Period.

There has been a lot of talk about the negative impact of the absence of Pakistani players. Agree there is negative impact commercially. But is there negative impact sporting wise? Compared to last years edition, in this edition you can see Bangladeshi players having more impact on the results. Every match you will see either a standout Bangladeshi performer with the bat or ball in some cases both. Crowd or no crowd, broadcast or no broadcast, at at the end of the day its this experience that will benefit our players not letting unknown Pakistani players come bat bowl and field in backward point.
