Sad For Sri Lanka Cricket If It Happens
The player dispute that has meant 23 of the top Sri Lankan players will be frozen out of selection, is going to make the Bangladesh Tour a meaningless one.
I feel sorry for the players in SL at the moment because even when/if they sort things out, the atmosphere among players will be rock bottom.
It is not the Bangladeshi players fault but I can see a really one-sided, and uncompetitive series, that people will just not want to see. Having hollow matches (as happened with West indies a few years ago when players had a contract dispute) makes for a waste of time.
The point of TEST cricket against other nations, is that the best players TEST their skills against each other. This 23 player freeze, will likely decimate the SL selection and at least create such a shocking mood for their squads.
Such a shame. Such a waste. No one wants meaningless matches.

I personally feel more sorry for the cricketers of BD, not because I'm a BDeshi, but because this happended before when we toured WI, this is happening again, this time it's Srilanka.
Since 2012 we have played very few matches, between almost every series we have had to wait 3+ months.
We as a team have improved a lot and just when things were looking good we are struggling with a quasi empty schedule.
Srilanka are not even sponsoring the series, it's us (as far as I know) , worse is that we are already there, don't know why this doesn't happen before the visiters arrive.
As a BD fan I am very frustrated, so should be the players, so should be Srilakan fans.

The situation in Windies was complex as their is no single government entity to watch over WICB. But, the Lankan sports minister does closely monitor activities of SLC. If I remember correctly, he has intervened in past to resolved players and board disputes. Lets hope he jumps in and finds, at least, a short term solution.

It is likely to be resolved soon. Bangladesh will play a full strength Sri Lanka side. But like Ian said they will be rusty, demoralized. Its upto Bangladesh to take advantage of the situation.

Good inputs, jeesh bhai. I think they will be rusty but not by much and in fact may be at 100% by toss time. SL are a very experienced and professional side and this dispute dragged on for hours and not days or weeks. They may be unhappy, but if they all agreed to return then either the SLC twisted their arms or they had a genuine changenof heart. Either way they have come to realize that intl cricket is their calling. I think the uncertainty this has brought into the Bangladesh camp will be at least equally disruptive if not more so. Hopefully a good contest awaits us all.

No change of hearts.
SLC will not give the players NOC to play in IPL if they don't sign the contract. So sign na kore upai nai.

Million $$ question is: Can Tigers do it or have the fire power to do it?
