No one knows what Taskin will become, but the boy has star potential. He has to be protected, especially Mushfiqur's tendency of overusing bowlers. I hope selectors listen to Karpinnen and not select Taskin for test at least another couple of years. If he is the test team, Mushfiqur should be give strict instruction on the upper limit Taskin can bowl.

We only play 4-6 Tests a year...that being said, perhaps we should just play him in ODIs in preparation for the 2015 WC. Give him a Test debut after that. Totally against him playing and getting injured in T20s or BPL. BPL will end being a curse for our pacers, mark my words. We've already seen Shakib take the hit and he's a spinner.

don't want him injured and if a former fast bowler is saying his body isn't ready yet then i think we should wait a bit.

Every fighter has an expiry date, incl Achilles
I personally feel that Mash shouldn't be playing test and ODI at all. let him play T20 and lengthen his career as long as possible. He has served enough ..

i'd cut him out of t20s and tests and keep him ine one-dayers. tests will be too much for his body and he's not that good in t20s. one-dayers are his best format and where the team will get the most beneficial use out of him.

i think time has come for mash to ask himself what he wants to do, if he wants to play the 2015 wc he'll have to give up 2014 and 2015 BPL. his body cant take the stress of BPL which is evident from the 2012 one.

let Taskin become a gentleman first and then we should consider him , for the present Robiul Islam and Ziaur rahman are doing a splendid job

Looks like Taskin will have tight competition in the national team with the likes of Robiul, Ziaur and Shafiul performing

There is a difference between knee "treatment" and "reconstructive surgery" a la Mash. Treatment could simply consist of a daily massage from some Asian hooker.

So whats the update on this guy? Is he seriously hurt or just a minor niggle or just some exploratory evaluations being done at the doctor's office?
I was really hoping this guy would be in the mix for the 2015 World Cup, but that looks unlikely now.

One thing is for sure, being a fast bowler is a really tough job.

Taskin eyes Jan return
Sports Reporter
Taskin Ahmed’s career, following his blistering performance in the Bangladesh Premier League in February, has been in the ‘anti-climax’ zone ever since. The 18-year-old pacer, who mesmerised many with his aggressive bowling in the BPL — where he took eight wickets in four matches — has been on the sidelines with a left knee tendon injury and a host of other problems ever since.
However, the tide it seems is turning for the bowler, who returned to bowl at the nets last week after a gap of almost nine months. According to Taskin, he will be ‘fit enough’ to play T20 cricket by January next year.
“Since last week I have been bowling 30 deliveries per session at the nets and my knee feels a lot better now. It was difficult when I initially started bowling, because it’s been a while, but two days on I got the hang of it,” said the lanky tearaway.
