What a shame if he is guilty of it.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/afghanis...y/1092057.html

Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Shahzad has been charged by the ICC for violating the anti-doping code. Shahzad was tested on January 17 at the ICC Academy in Dubai, in an out-of-competition test, and the sample was analysed at a WADA-accredited laboratory in Salt Lake City. It was found to contain a prohibited substance, Clenbuterol, according to the ICC.

As per the ICC's anti-doping regulations, Shahzad will be provisionally suspended 12 days after issuing the notice of charges being laid - that is, from April 26. He has the right to request that his B sample be tested within five days from the notice, and to challenge the suspension within 12 days. If he challenges the suspension, a hearing will take place and the suspension will not be imposed till the outcome of the hearing is known.

Shahzad also has to respond to the charge withing 14 days. If he does not respond, it will be considered to be an admission of guilt.

The big-hitting Shahzad, who has played 58 ODIs and 58 T20Is, was last seen in action during Afghanistan's series against Ireland in Greater Noida, India. In December 2016, he was named the Associate and Affiliate Cricketer of the Year by the ICC, for the period running September 2015 to 2016.

What a blow for Afghanistan. What happens to the results of the games he played?

I dont trust the ICC.

They said the same thing about Kusal Perera. What happened.

Taskin banned for chucking, now magically bowling with an unchanged action and its "legal". Lol.

Brian Vitori faills, passes, then fails bowling test again...all in 10 months time.

ICC has no clue. Cant even organize a Test league or figure out if WT20 should be every 2 or 4 years.

Kusal pererra testing had procedural errors

Taskin had a procedural errors, he was made to bowl 9 bouncers in 3 minutes, bowled 8 overs instead of 4

Vitori chucked like hell, always chucked, I called him on it straight away, but people on here said it was clean, must have used a different action in the testing

Errors are errors and only decrease credibility.

Pakistan's Shehzad is Ahmed Shehzad and Afghanistan's Shahzad is Mohammad Shahzad. Notice the difference between name and spelling.

Between the outrageous over appealing, Nabi caught red handed cheating (twice) and the general vibe I get off them, they are the least likeable team in cricket. Its been ignored due to the fairytale story behind the side but with the increased exposure this AFG team will get negative headlines on a regular basis and be embroiled in controversy.

I think you may have missed the essence of my post.

Earlier, the thread read, 'Afghan WK Ahmed Shehzad positive in dope test'.

I was simply trying to highlight the error.

Mods fixed it.

Good for cricket and any sport (if this cricketer is truly a cheater and doper and his sample B blood tests positive)

Hopefully this will (should) teach other sportsman/cricketers not to be greedy, lier and a cheat.

The least likable is Ireland by far.

Thank You! Finally I've found someone else who holds the same sentiment as I do. I agree with everything that you have said.

Clenbuterol, from what I understand, is for weight loss. Why should be a guy at fault for trying to shed few pounds?!!!

Believe it or not, some would argue that it's our team. I don't blame them either. Ire is a chill team.

After Taskingate, it should be obvious the ICC's regulations are used to only target certain players from certain teams.

Why was Kusal Perera banned and then cleared immediately?

Why is Taskin bowling with an unchanged action the last 6 months?

These questions need to kept in your mind the next time a player from the non-big 3 gets reported for whatever.

Heck, has anyone done the calculations to see if Mashrafee really went over the slow over rate limit?

I have to agree to this. I remember our match against them in the WC where they got thrashed but acted like dicks with our players for no reason what so ever. Lost a lot of respect that day for them tbh.

Yep, some of their guys have a bit of attitude problem. This guy Shahzad is probably the main culprit along with Dawlat Zadran.

Indians seem to love the Afghans, and seems to think they are a far better side than Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. Of course that could change once the Afghans start beating their team.
