I'm not going to jump the gun like many other Australian supporters but it's fair to say that they have as good a chance as either of Japan or Croatia. I don't think we've dropped a game since the Confederations (apart from a 1-0 loss in Montevideo). This current Australian side is as good as I've seen and can definitely make it through to the round of 16. Whether we will is another story.

I think Australia have a good chance of going through to the next round. Brazil will of course top the group, but the second place spot can go either way to Japan, Croatia or Australia.

Infact, Australia have to make sure they are not thrashed by Brazil, because at the end of the day, it could come down to goal difference between 2nd and 3rd.

just saw a headline that said that the ref apologized to Australia for the Japan goal. Good thing is, it doesn't matter now (unless goal difference comes to play). I only saw the first 20-25 minutes of the game the other day and Australia looked like a very disciplined outfit and were running riot against the Japs. They sure looked ready to move to round two.
