SopCast? I got to watch the opening ceremony on SopCast from a foreign language channel, but somehow I think the sopcast server was down just when the game started. Didnt matter for me... watched it at uni.

Does anyone know how hard it is to stream the broadcast? I have a digital tv tuner on my laptop and have a Broadband connection. If there are one or two people that are really keen on watching, I'm willing to help out if anyone knows how?

Courtesy of my chinese lab mate, I found out that a software called Tvants can be used to see world cup games. They usually broadcast chinese channels but ESPN is also shown most of the time.
1. You can download the software from Tvants official site or you can download it from the following link (you need to unzip the file and run the exe file).
http://rapidshare.de/files/22868615/...p0630.zip.html
2. After installing the software, run it and go to the "search tab". If nothing is showing up click on "more".
3. I know that CCTV 5 shows the world cup games (commentary in chinese) and they have the best speed. You can also try ESPN too, but the speed might not very good because few people watches it. For the best speed, choose the channel with the highest number of audience. They also have some high resolution streams, where the picture quality is too good.
4. Choose the channel by clicking on it and wait for a couple of minutes to buffer.
Enjoy the WORLD CUP!!!!!

today (12/06) for some reason no channel was available on Tvants for the morning games but there were many channels for the afternoon games. So don't be disheartened Tvants does not work for the morning games.

hi
I am also watching some games at sopcast but the quality is very poor although i do have a broadband connection. Also the commentary bugs me as well which is in some other language and it becomes worse when there is a goal the commentator says goaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal... i dont know that is the way goal pronounced in his language or not!
