Tamim Iqbal
He is completely out of sorts. He probably played the worst openers' innings in this 20-20 WC. He's not in good touch, but still he tries to 'invent' a shot in every ball instead of sticking to the effective orthodox shots.
BD team management should give him a break in the next match and try Junaed or anyone else in his position in the next match. His replacement won't do worse than what he did today.

Are you sure? His partner did worse than him today. I would rather play Zunaid in place of Reza and put him 1st down.
We have part time bowlers in Ash, Aftab and Kapali plus the 4 full time bowlers Russell, Masri, Razzak and Sakib. We dont need Farhad.

His partner did worse than him in terms of stats. In reality, Nazim didn't last long enough to pass any judgement on him. And in the recent matches he was in runs and hit the ball cleanly.
On the other hand, Tamim looked like a fish out of water in his 12 ball stay. He wasn't getting runs before the tournament not without a reason. WI bowlers often bowled in the leg stump line, and whenever they did that Tamim wanted to 'invent' something to play his favorite off side shots from those deliveries.

Tamim was out of sort after WC besides few occasions in practice match. I believe he still tries to slog and go after all the balls. Junaed can be tried for next match.

havent seen junaid yet, all the hyperboles about him .... may not be true. But I think reja can be replaced with junaed and 4 overs can be made up from kapali, aftab and ashraful.
i think tamim should play, but he probably needs to stay still rather than moving around all over the place when the ball is bowled. aftab also did the same mistake in the beginning but then he learnt and didnt move sideways, he is such a good stroke player, he can play strokes both side of the wicket with ease. Same is the case with tamim, even though he favours off, his legside play is not bad. He may charge down the wicket which make the bowler think but stop moving sideways.

stop it guys,we can do a bit of experiment in our next match and maybe like replace junaid in the place of tamim and then if he performs he will get the 1st match in our 2nd round but i dont think the selectors will do this ,they are like always tamim even if he is in bad form but lets just wait and see what they do.

yes he is i think we should drop him in the 2nd match against south africa and if the replacement does well then maybe the replacement guys will play in the 2nd match but IMHO we should'nt drop players because it hurts the chemistry and unity.

Farhad Reza doesn't contribute anything. No need for him

Bench Tamim against SA and see what Junaid can do.

His fielding earns a spot in my book. His clean, heavy hitting down the order can prove to be valuable also. He bowled very well in most of the practice matches against weaker opposition, and I would'nt mind seeing him get another chance against SA.
That said, I've never been a fan of his bowling and always supported giving Zia a look instead.
The seamer I'm a lot more worried about is Mashrafe. Indispensable because of his heavy hitting and the heart of the team, he needs to take several pages from Rasel's book and learn to be a T20 bowler, and learn fast.

In reality, the next match has no effect what so ever, we can literally rest the top players and play the whole bench so that we can know who should be in the first eleven for 2nd round and backup.
We can play the next match with out best for pride, but we have too much at stake right now, our goal is to reach the semis. Play smart.

I thought that's why we played the practice matches? no?

I would play the same eleven for next match but Tamim and Forhad need to do well to keep their spot in the main eleven. For me, Junaed can replace Tamim and Nadif can replace Forhad.

No, we played the practice matches to get our top 11 adjusted to the new ground, faster wickets. If we did what you thought, we would have seen Junaid and Zia get some match practice.

I am really disappointed with Tamim. More I see him, more I realize India innings was just a fluke and he has so much more to learn to do well in this level.

Just hoping our selectors can see this opportunity to try out few other players before going to 2nd round.

In a tournament I don't think you change a winning combination. Let the boys play now. In due time the others will get their chances. No need to hurry!! Specially we have achieved our initial goals.

Nadif is a spinner, so I think Zia is a better alternative for the sake of variation.

I don't know why we are only picking on Farhad Reza after one game where he just bowled twom overs and not even batted?
Based on one game only, what Mashrfaree, Tamim, Nazim has done that Farhad had not done?
Mashrafee started with 3 wide balls. If the Captain doesn't have faith in his Vice Captain to start the innings or let him bowl his 4 sloted overs, why do we need him?
What Tamim's contribution in this game?
Farhad gave less runs than our captain who bowled 4 overs. And he didn'tr even get a cahnce to bat. Plus have you seen his feilding? Where Aftab dropped a loppa catch, Farhad, Alok and Rasel fielded great.
So asking Farhad's head after one game and two coslty overs.... isn't it over reacting?
