Summary of Strategic preparation plan for U-19 championship 2006

BCB has in place a preparation plan for the 2006 championship. This incorporates programs and initiatives to upgrade all activities and related areas which affect the performance of the Bangladesh team players.

Coaching will not be enough to bring BD cricket to international standards. So a Holistic approach is required.
If you look at objective F-
"To create a physical environment which allows the players the opportunity to be the best they can be".

It is also a concern to be able to provide young players the knowledge such as how to use computer and the internet. Currently few or next to noone has good skills to use the internet . This could be useful to empower the players to access information about opposition teams. Doing this they take the initiative before a match instead of relying on the coach to feed them with the knowledge.

It looks like a very good plan. Someone need to create a similar plan for Domestic first class cricket. We also need to arrange regular tours by BD A team and invite other A teams or associate members. These two areas need to be addressed now if we want to see any positive result in the next (2007) world cup.

We need to arrange more matches against Kenya, Zimbabwe, Canada(still stronger than BD ).

i think the BCB should really look at this site and so should the coaches, selectors, and players...translations should be made for the players if they cannot read/comprehend english sufficiently
