Good to hear these kind of comments. Alas!! nothing like that will happen. just look at the players of England: pietersen, collingwood, bell, cook in batting and broad, swann, onions in bowling. no, no chance. our test status is really in stake.

If ICC stood by BD during the horrid period of 2001-2004[no win], 2006-2009[no win], i think they will stand by us.
One must understand test status is not only about the performance by the #1 team of the nation, but the whole system and the infra structure, that is why Kenya did not yield test status even after their tremendous run in the 2003 WC.

The two teams who will play the most test matches are Australia and England, maybe a whopping 12 in a year. West Indies and Pakistan will also suffer.
I feel that BCB should arrange for BD to play more first class 4 days matches against top Associate teams, or invite the A teams from other countries to play.

Sister,
MAny BC fans have been reiterating this idea in different forms for more than 10 occasions over the span of last three years...
Yet, No change...
there used to be a time our A team was heavily involved in overseas tours...i wonder whatever happened to that? lack of funding? lack of interest? or something not worth mentioning?

I heard during interval of one of the South Asian Games on TV that CWAB ( check spelling = the players' association of former cricketers) had said that when National Cricket League was first introduced back in 2000, we used to play 10 longer version matches a year.
Now, in the year 2009, we play even less number of longer version matches a year.
And obviously, our national players get to play even less number of longer version domestic matches a year because they're picked for the national team so early in their career.

Now, ICC is considering giving Ireland full member status, but maybe short of offering them Test status. If they get full member status, then they dont have to play in tournaments to qualify anymore for the big events, they automatically get a slot.

this test coming up and the series against will be the turning point of the careers of most of the tigers in the team, even captain shakib,i beg of him to please forget about the past and just focus on the future and think positively, and strike new zealand with your maiden test century, come on you can play the left arm spn of vettori, here in new zealand you should hone your skills and become superior than all the rest,i think shakib is really underrated
