This SL league is so cheap. Highest an international player will get is only about $35k. I don't think they will pay him that much. He is going to earn more by playing the Zimbabwe tour ($5000+ for Test, $2500-3000 for each ODI).
You do realise 5000 + (3000 x 5) = $20000 which is less than $35K...

He said the highest an Int player will earn is only about $35k, he didn't say Tamim will earn 35K. Tamim will earn less than that.

And then you have to argue, INT > some new cheap modna league.

I agree with the Dilscoop and Murad. Just a few days ago he said he was interested to play maybe he found out BCB won't let him go or that no team is interested in him (the DS report said after signing the contract in Feb no one from the tournament contacted him yet) so he backed down and said this to the media to save face. Let's see him do this when an IPL offer comes along. Knowing him he'll probably beat up BCB officials if they tried to stop him playing in the IPL.

Btw, did Tamim really do it out of love for his nation, or rather, he had to or something...

Found this thread where Tamim is so much willing to play in IPL. Here in case of SLPL I think the money to offer is too less (Guess 25K for him) and not worth taking the risk to take on BCB head on. Nothing very great in it

Actually, we kind of do. If Zimbabwe manage to post 300+, only Shakib or Tamim can realistically get us home. The only time we won chasing 300+ Tamim scored 154.

It is easy to analyse. But when our players do it seem difficult chasing 300+.

We have never actually made 300 against a current test playing nation.

Without Tamim now we cannot think our team. Our team is totally fragile & incomplete without him. Always I keep Tamim in must-need position in the team. That is not only for my favourite player but also for his good cricket. Man doesn't become big by his money, man becomes big by his deeds. Tamim decided not to play in SLPL giving priority to his homeland. That is really a great deed. My respect on him goes higher hearing this.
