Let him play where he plays. No need to go up and down. I think he had to come 10 overs earlier than he should.
Our top 5 shoule Stay upto 35-40 overs

nope,no drop shop or something, lets play with this same team for 3 or 2 more series and see what happens,i just want a good team chemistry and we lack that due to our selectors match after match dorp and replace method, lets just have patience for a while and even if we do that we would still lose so whats the point, lets just leave em as they are and no more experimenting i think you have done enough of that.

When we look at all the desparate tinkering of the openers' slot, some of these bold theories sound good and make a lot of sense IN THEORY.

I'm afraid the reality can only be a variation of us trying-out Pilot, Ashraful and Alok as openers not too long ago.

IMHO, opening the batting is a specialized position where many things need to synergize well.

Namely: -

1) Talent or the ability to sight the ball irrespective of pace, bounce and in some cases, early swing both ways that can cause the line of delivery sway and shift at the last moment.

2) The ability to apply to do the right thing with the delivery ball after ball, meaning to leave, block, push, tuck, cut, drive, pull or hook as required by the percentages.

3) Having both the temperament and the intelligence to know when to just see something or someone through and how, while waiting for bad deliveries to put away.

I think Riyad is doing just fine where he is and we should let him grow. That way, he may be have a better chance to SUSTAIN some this early success Inshallah. It's a matter of percentages.

Opening is a specialist position, even in the thrill a minute leather bashing we know as ODIs. We already have 3 specialist openers in the squad. All three of them have the 'potential' to make the position their own. Riad on the other hand has rarely played in the top 5, even in domestic leagues. His strength is working the angles, which is perfectly suited to the 20-40 over period. While a Farhad- Riad opening combo might 'in theory' seem like our answer to Gilly-Hayden, it is highly impractical and unlikely to be successful
