Potential means nothing if a bowler cannot take wickets. Let a bowler do exceptionally well before calling in the national team. As I have been observation- This is not the case at all. The selectors are adding and throwing bowlers like anything.

this is not planetcricket this Banglacricket (as you already know). I doubt Whoever that has opened those thread comes in BC.
With regards to Rubel Hussain=Overrated. ATMR and Murad said it already which is
Rubel Hussain = Too Young
Rubel Hussain = Should not have been playing international cricket.
I like to say Rubel has not matured yet give him couple of years. He may surprise you.
As for Robin he is good bowler but last tour he under performed badly. But if the condition is in his favour he is the best bowler for swing. Must bring him to England next year.
Muhammad Shazada was given chance against England A. Though economical he was not a wicket taker. He is medium pacer who bowls at 75 to 78 mph (he will get thrashed around the park against quality batsmen)
Here is scorecard from England A tour of Bangladesh. (Look at English players most of the bowlers are part of Englands ODI and Test squad)
http://www.cricinfo.com/bangladesh/e...ch/275763.html
and looks like they targetted him on 1st of the one day match
http://www.cricinfo.com/bangladesh/e...ch/275760.html
And thats probably the last time he was given any chance. I know thats not enough to say he is not a international calibre bowler. He must have been awful in last game otherwise atleast he would have got another A tour.
Another thing is you can not compare NCL FC matches with international cricket. Its completely different ball game. e.g. Brett Lee may probably bowl 89 MPH (still fast) at an FC matches nowdays but will bowl 95 MPH during test or ODI.

they should have given sajidul islam more opportunities instead of throwing rubel into international cricket head first. i think it's good for rubel to play some international cricket, but he shouldn't be playing every format and every match, maybe just stick to one-dayers for the moment.

Give this guy some time, it was wrong to ask anything from a kid who barely has one year's proper cricketing experience. Give him time. His breed is a rarity in sub continent. Not many bowlers from sub continent can hit 145k. And no Bangladeshi apart from Mashrafe was ever that quick.
Give him more chances to play at international level[ A-team, academy team] let him prepare himself for test cricket, and then come back in about 2-3 years.

Bangladesh don't have any Test class pacer. Shahadat was the only notable Test pacer we had, now he has become ineffective too. So, overrated or not, Rubel is an option we got to try out (for Test matches).

It is time to accept the reality,, Rubel is no Md. Amer or even Ishant Sharma. He is what he is.. Md Rubel. With coaching, guidance and a bit of luck,, a talent can develop into international star. Whether Rubel is such a player,, we dont know yet. It is really way too early to say. But the reality is this... Other than Mashrafee Mortaza, there has been no other pace bolwers that can be considered as an international quality. Rasel comes second but his in injury prone and does not have the physical ability to sustain long international career.
In a country where pace bolwers are not getting a club to play,, we expect to produce a Md. Amer or Vaas? C'mon,, who are we kidding?

Why is this guy still in the team after his poor performance one match after the other? Don't the selector understands the fact that bowling fast does not make a bowler good. Are they stupid? Aren't there anymore bowlers in the country? It is time to kick him OUT!!!!

Way too raw to play at this level. Once again we are guilty of bringing in a player way too early. Only this time i hope it wont have negative consequences.

Give him some time. He definitely has the potential to become a dangerous pace bowler but as of yet it is much too early to start throwing out comments saying he is "overrated".
Let's hope his potential isn't wasted like we have seen with many other of our pace bowlers.

when will our selectors realize and stop this kind of mess. he was brought in way too early. he has a lot of work to do, he needs time and that time need to be spent away from the national team, with bowling coaches on the net.
