Times up for Siddonse. He has been given reasonable time and occasion to show his skill and he has failed miserably in final exam. Its time to bring someone new and I always prefer South African coaches.

If West Indies had taken 20 runs more, Siddons would have been a hero

its confirmed....he is going.

Let Siddons go. He has not shown me enough as a Head Coach. Perhaps he can convince someone to give him a batting-coach job. But, I think he can be a good salesman or politician. His approach did not work. Look at the results. But, he managed to "sell" it for 4 years. That takes some skills.

@The Nadster: In all seriousness dude, Tutul scares me a lot more than easy riding opportunists like Sid. While guys like Sid stagnate growth, the Tutul-types can destroy it.

Which batsmen improved under his personal improvement plan? Is Tamim a better batsman today than he was 4 years ago? Perhaps. I am not sure. Only Shakib and Imrul showed improvement. But, much of it might be due to personal initiatives and not due to JS. Even if we give credit to JS for these two, everyone else either remained the same or regressed.
However, to me his cardinal sin was favoritism. If he was not engaged in it, perhaps he would have tried to solve our middle-order/late-hitting/wicketkeeping woes. But, that would have meant he had to drop his favorite boys. That is not acceptable. Is it?

Considering the fact that Sid's departure is inevitable, I want to add that sack Loitta & gong as well and bring back Saber (I am no BAL or BNP fan, btw) to reorganize our cricket infrastructure from root level.

Given our vindictive political leadership, pigs will fly before this happens. Would be great for BD cricket, if it happened though.

We already know what our strengths and weaknesses are.
  1. Despite some struggles, our opening pair is set.
  2. We have one good middle-order batsman, Shakib. If we want to find whether Riyad would cut at 3 or 4, we have some time to do it. Zunaed has been given ample opportunities and has not shown that he can do the job. SN should be given some more opportunities to see whether he can be a solution at 3 and 4.
  3. Mushfiqur has to go. The only things he does well on the field are stamping and chirping. Even if Jahurul drops his average below 30, he will be an improvement as a keeper.
  4. We need to do something about 6 and 7. There are many options. Try Shabbir, Hom, or any other promising youngster.
  5. I cannot complain much about the improvement in bowling. Our matches were won by the bowlers. Keep working with the pacers. Try to develop a good legspinner. They can be valuable and add variety to the attack. Try your best to keep Ian Pont.
  6. Let Siddons go. He has not shown me enough as a Head Coach. Perhaps he can convince someone to give him a batting-coach job.
  7. Hire someone with a cricketing brain and a good, well-thought approach.
  8. Let us win the 2015 WC. Go Tigers!

They need to hire a batting coach with more experience in international cricket. We need to improve at pretty much every department. Only Tamim, Shakib and Razzak are the only players that we can call class (there's Mashrafe too but he needs to come out of injury first). Tamim still has plenty of room for improvement however, mainly with his shot selection. Imrul can definitely grow into batsman that can play throughout the innings if he can develop his technique (playing through the gaps, manuevering the ball, taking 1s and 2s etc). Shafiul also has potential but that toothpick needs to eat more and work out and he needs to develop a few more deliveries and consistency. The rest are only a burden on the team right now. Mushfiq should play only tests. They should watch other teams and try to learn a thing or two, see how they approach different situations. Bottom line: Siddons' time is up, it doesn't seem like there's anything else he can do for the team.

Anti or pro is a hard ball? What I see that he did not deliver compared to the facilities and monetary supplies he is provided. If you ask a professional recruiter the answer would be that was too much money paid for the benefits achieved. He is overly paid and once he cemented his position as HC he did not care much to labour and hardship, for example, avoiding to bring in talents and help them to get accustomed to this level. He escaped his duties through the loopholes that are nicely maintained by our unprofessional board.

So, one can see how short-sighted the BC members have been regarding Siddons.
