Default Uncertainty principle and why we may see some surprises

So far of this writing 27 out of 37 - that's 72.9% of a small sampling- who believe that we may win the World Cup.

Are we really that deluded?

Reason is because of the uncertainty of Bangladesh's behavior. Before NZ series it was consistent. Suddenly there is a dent and if we average out past series we will see the prediction erratic.

World Cup is more 'compactified' in the sense that a lot of games would be played in short time's space against various opponents. Therefore the first cause of the domino effect need to be BD bashing India. If Bangladesh manages to do that, suddenly the uncertainty level would rise by X factor. Because of the 'compactification' we are meant to see more erratic behavior in a short time, thus more uncertainty and thus more surprises.

One thing that though certain is: It will be an eventful World Cup.

Let the best wins it all! Only the umpires can ruin it all..And there are those spot fixers...

^ I dont think so. Players usually give their best when they play against India, and on top of that that match will be the opening match of the WC. they will be super charged up...

Like I said before, Beat India in the opening match, we've won the world cup. Simple as that.

Simple as that.
Then just make sure we haven't lost to the associates, reach the QF, beat whoever we face in the QF and make it to the semis.

We would make more noise than the eventual champions then.

i think that poll is only about first round games, not winning the world cup.

but hey, even shakib said if we make the QFs (which we really should "on paper" at least) anything can happen. fans will always be more deluded than the players themselves.

so its unfair to say shakib is deluded. or to say that ash is a defeatist/sissy for stating that we were in trouble against afghanistan - he never said he thought the game was lost.

I'd hv prefered to hv Sri(or Pak) & NZ instead of Eng,Ind & SA in our grp.
But anyway,as SAkib said I think these grp matches will be the most diffclt part for us,so I won't go to far but hope BD to play their best crckt & win as many grp matches they can.

No, That poll asked "Who will win 2011 worldcup?"

By the way, that poll is gonna end 3 days before the BD vs IND match. Please cast your vote too if you haven't done it already.

Playing against tough teams in group round actually gives you an advantage. If you can pass Round 1, then you will face relatively weak teams in QF. Great chance to sneak through SF.

So, i would rather prefer playing against NZ or Pak in QF than playing in 1st round.
