Although a fine player in his youth, I don't think you can compare Phil Weston with the likes of Hick, ramps and Butcher!

You're right but that wasn't my point. Phil opened while the rest are higher middle order batsman. Phil Weston had solid technique and played the game based on percentage which Bd players don't. Aside from the obvious issue of not have a lot spots for foreign players, I just don't see how our batsman or bowlers match up to the English players. Based on just skills Bd players don't make it. That's what I was trying to convey.
