Bangladesh needs a Kevin O Brien
We have been playing cricket for 10+ years and it's a shame we can't come up with a smart slogger/perfect text book batsman. None of Riyad, Naeem and Ashraful comes even close to Kevin. We could have won many more games if we had a calm smart cricketer like Kevin in our side. I remember our matches against England, how Riyad and Naeem just blocked out the overs when we needed 100 of 90 balls or something close.
Naeem Riyad and Ashraful are a disgrace and a waste at number 6 slot, they neither have the skills nor the ability. Do we have anyone in domestic cricket who are match winners like Kevin?

I think they Irish players improved because of their contracts in county cricket. I hope a few of our players get contracts with the counties and it should have an immnese impact.

One sparrow makes no summer. O'Brien is good, but we have batmen with better technique and stats. Remember Davison?

We don't!!!
What we need is WINNING MENTALITY AND BELIEVING YOURSELF THAT YOU CAN WIN MATCHES REGARDLESS THE OPPOSITION/SITUATION...

Just give us a Flat Deck with Mickey Mouse Boundaries and you'll get 20 of them.
The Same Pull shot he got out vs us went for 4 (should have been taken) and about 3 others would have been out too Mirpuir.

This is exactly what i was talking abt the other day...
If Bangladesh were 115 for 5 and Rock at the crease, we would have got 220 and rock scored 70 runs and all BanglaForum guys would go goo goo ga ga over Rakibul. And we loose by 100 runs still...
Instead if Ashraful was at the crease he would try to make a match out of it and in the process might get out for 20 runs and all BCers would ask for his head....
I still prefer the Ash approach any day...

We had a flat deck against India, we played poorly compared to Ireland's victory.

You can chase 300+ score by playing proper cricket shot. For example how england chased 338 vs India. Strauss and Bell didnt slog but kept the scorecard moving all time.
If tigers can lift their game and plan that would be good enough to beat anyone.

We certainly had produced good sloggers in the form of Alok Kapali and Aftab Ahmed.....but they just lost their way! Now I just hope, we can find that in Sabbir Ahmed, although I'm not sure how good a slogger he is actually, but his domestic strike rate suggests he's a good one!

Don't be fooled by the plethora of runs in that match, it was anything but a flat deck. In fact I think Mirpur is unable to produce a flat deck. The ball always stops a bit before coming to the bat, or skids. AT best Mirpir can produce dust bowls, but even then scoring requires a lot of hard running and wrist. Keep in mind that Mirpur ground is 90 m to 80 m in diameter, whereas today shots covering 66 m went for six. That same shot would've been caught in the sweeper in Mirpur.
Taking nothing away from Kevin or Ireland, I firmly believe it was the English who messed up. They should have scored 350 up and they should have dusted the Irish for less than 200.

Look at your Avatar! I know you are obsessed with Ash. He won't disappoint you (and us).
I am sure you are talking about 10 wickets. Believe...(He won't get 10 wickets but he will do sth with bat...)
